As CEO of CARTO, Javier is responsible for driving the company growth and expansion to new and broader markets to achieve the company’s mission, the democratization of location intelligence.
Javier is passionate about all things data and its potential to improve the way we make decisions in our world.
Location data is changing the way companies do business. CARTO is the Location Intelligence platform that empowers everyone, from business analysts to data scientists, to understand where and why things happen, optimize business processes, and predict future outcomes. This leads to more efficient delivery routes, better behavioral marketing, strategic store placements and more.
Historically, location data was consumed via static GIS maps, developed by highly trained specialists. CARTO breaks this paradigm by turning the map into an interactive model, where all types of professionals can do sophisticated analysis and deploy location applications on their own. CARTO was listed as the 216th fastest-growing company in the US according to Inc. 5000. It has over 100 employees between its offices in New York, Washington DC, Madrid, London, and Tartu (Estonia), and has raised $31M from investors including Earlybird, Accel, and Salesforce Ventures.
