Reid is a Partner at Greylock Partners. He also serves as an Executive Chairman at LinkedIn Corporation and as an Advisor to New Cycle Capital, LLC.

He joined Greylock in November 2009 and is based in their California office. His areas of focus at the firm includes consumer and services, enterprise software, consumer Internet, enterprise 2.0, mobile, social gaming, online marketplaces, payments, and social networks.

Previously, Reid co-founded LinkedIn Corporation and then served as the CEO. Prior, he served as an Executive Vice President of PayPal, Inc. and was in charge of all business relationships: business development, corporate development, international, government relations, and banking/payments infrastructure.

Reid serves as a Director at Grassroots Enterprise, Inc. since September 2007 and has been the Chairman of the Board of LinkedIn Corporation since February 2007. He also serves as a Director of Kiva Microfunds, Tagged, Inc. Vendio Services, Inc., Zynga, Inc., Six Apart, Ltd., Mobshop, Mozilla Corporation, Grassroots.com, Kiva.org, JumpStart Technologies, Talk To The Future, TreasureGames, and the International Media Project and on the Board of Advisors for EZCab and WeAttract. Mr. Hoffman is a Member of the Advisory Council of fbFund. He is also the Board Observer of Gowalla. He served as a Director at Confinity, Inc. from December 1998 to January 2000.

Reid graduated from Stanford with a B.S. in Symbolic Systems in Cognitive Science and Oxford with a M.S. in Philosophy.
