With more than half of the Argentine market for medical transaction IT and 90% recurring revenues, Conexia has become the industry benchmark in Argentina, and is poised to spread its solution throughout Latin America. In 2004, Luis and Sebastian bought Conexia, the information technology company that they had been managing for four years. Since then, healthcare insurance companies in Argentina have been experiencing the advantages of real-time adjudication (RTA) of benefits, which enables healthcare practitioners and insurance companies to share information and validate medical procedures with the simple swipe of a patient’s health card.
Now Conexia connects 14,000 healthcare providers, including clinics, pharmacies, doctors and hospitals, helping insurance companies reduce their medical and administrative costs. At the same time Conexia provides certainty to doctors about their billing and reduces their paperwork. Finally, patients get improved access as well as clarity about medical costs before these services are rendered.
Conexia is the subject of a 2010 MIT-Sloan case study.
