Company Snapshot
Guillermo is making it possible for poor families in rural and semi-urban Mexico to own a well-constructed home. Currently two-thirds of all existing houses in Mexico are built informally by their owners, and many are overcrowded, unsafe structures with dirt floors and thatched roofs. Founded in 2009, MIA offers an alternative by organizing community teams to work together in progressive construction stages spread out over several years. To support these teams, Guillermo sells low-cost, high-quality materials, oversees gradual construction, and facilitates staggered micro-financing.
