Business News Americas is a subscription-based service that provides industry-specific information in English and Spanish to Latin America’s business leaders and decision-makers via a daily, real-time Internet news service. Original and third-party content from across the region combined with complementary research and investigation tools create a one-stop-shop for subscribers. The company is ranked as one of the top Latin American business news sources on both Yahoo and Google search engines and it is striving to become the business information company that customers value most by offering indispensable content, innovative delivery options, complimentary advertising opportunities, and the best customer service.

Founder Greg Barton is originally from England, arrived in Chile in 1995 and launched Business News Americas from the maid’s room of his apartment. A serial entrepreneur, Greg launched his first company, organizing activity holidays for students, at age 21 while studying business at the University of Leeds in the UK. In 1995, after setting up a travel business in the U.S. and restaurant in Colombia, he settled in Chile. On arrival, he sold advertising space for the South Pacific Mail, a now defunct English language business monthly. This experience generated the idea for Business News Americas as he realized the need for quality, sector specific business information focused on Latin America.

As it is the only regional Latin American news publication with a daily output in Spanish and English, Business News Americas has filled a gap in the market and has proved to be an ever expanding powerhouse in the International News arena.

Endeavor and Business News Americas

Through Endeavor, Greg has received communications and marketing guidance, and BCG consultants developed plans for business growth. He has also benefited from the Ernst & Young Fellows and G-Lab programs, Immersion Tour, and Entrepreneur Summit.

Greg demonstrates commitment by speaking on Endeavor’s behalf at conferences and events. During the 2010 Chile earthquake, his company was particularly valuable in providing real-time updates to the Endeavor network.
