Company Snapshot
Dynamo traces its origins to four very different entrepreneurs with a shared passion for film and a joint desire to bet on a regionally under-developed industry. In 2006, Diego, Cristian, Andrés, and Rodrigo founded Dynamo, a holding company composed of Dynamo Capital — the only private equity fund for film-financing in Latin America — and Dynamo Productions, a screenwriting, production, and distribution business. This young company has already worked on several of Colombia’s most internationally celebrated films, including Satanás, which won “Best Picture” at the Monte Carlo Film Festival in 2007, and Perro come Perro, which was one of 16 films presented at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. In 2010, Dynamo’s film Contracorriente won at Sundance. With major institutional investors backing their fund and a distribution network that spans the globe, these entrepreneurs hope to develop and distribute Latin American content worldwide.
Endeavor and Dynamo
The Entrepreneurs have worked with Endeavor Colombia to refocus their strategy on two market segments: independent films in Europe, Latin America, and the US; and TV series produced by US producers for the Latin American market and by Spanish producers for the Spanish market. In addition to the global G-Lab program, they have benefited from local collective trainings and networking, and professional services partnerships.
