Socialmetrix founders Martin Enriquez, Juan Damia, and Gustavo Arjones have developed an online platform that uses proprietary technology to tell companies what is being said about them and their products, on the Internet
Martin began his career in technology working for Grupo Clarin in Buenos Aires. He then joined Latin3, a marketing agency, and during his time there tried to fill the gap in new ways to engage customers. He then founded his own business, SocialMetrix.
Before establishing SocialMetrix, Martin assembled a team of his previous co workers. He contracted Gustavo, an IT expert with experience in coding (thanks to his undergraduate studies in Computer Science). To add to his own management expertise, and Gustavo’s technical experience, Marina looked to add an analytic mind. He found Juan Damia, a coworker at Latin3.
In 2008, the team founded Socialmetrix based on a common vision: that social media is changing the way people communicate, and mining those communications for information is critical in making the best possible marketing decisions. Their product, SMXEcho, is a platform that enables marketers to qualify and quantify the perception of their products and their competitors online. Their software crawls the web constantly, reviewing domains every day. Finally, this data is run through a sentiment analysis process that reveals the feelings expressed in these words.
The SMXEcho platform is hosted online and entirely based on open-source software. Built on cloud components, it requires minimal capital expenditure to operate and improve.
